Our mission is to help the Maya deliver their message to the world.  While the film is being finished, we will continue to create and share many short video clips, at no charge for viewers, on our site and on YouTube.  There are now 5-6 of these message media clips to view, with more coming in next few months.  Please help spread the messages by using the "SHARE" button on any page of our site or linking to them in your favorite social media portal.

About the Video

Tata and Titicaca is not only fun to say, it is a video that holds a special energy and message.  The footage was shot in 2006 on the original Shift of the Ages shoot while the crew documented Wandering Wolf’s journey to recover the Sacred Mayan Staff of Authority for his people of Guatemala.  At the time, Guatemala had still not formally recognized its indigenous population even though about half of the country are Indigenous Maya.

A good friend of the SOTA project shared the series of Wandering Wolf’s video messages with a Native American woman from Northern California.  She was moved by what she saw, and felt compelled to energetically assist the project’s effort.  She handed our friend a special gift to give to the Producer.  Some days later, Steve Copeland was presented a nicely wrapped bundle of Native American cloth.  He opened it to find a piece of sage set on top of several hundreds of dollars.  He was told that with this gift came prayers of multiplicity and project success.  Moved by the intent and generosity of this gift , Steve let our friend know that we would be sure to put her energetic contribution towards good use; something that has social value and the power to exponentially multiply.

About Mike 

Mike has had many experiences as a child that awakened his curiosity in ancient cultures and spirituality.  He gives his dad a lot of the credit. Mike's father was a history buff, Boy Scout Leader and adventurer. He took his children to natural history museums, historic sites and traveling adventures where they learned about native peoples. During one adventure in particular, when Mike was 14 years-old, their family went to the Yucatan, Mexico. This was the first time Mike was exposed to the Maya, and it left a lasting impression.

Santiago Atitlán and Maximon

Santiago Atitlan is located around the Atitlan Lake, one of the most sacred lakes to the present and ancient Maya. It is in the jurisdiction of the municipality of Sololá in southwest Guatemala. Santiago Atitlan is the largest town around the Lake, where there are approximately 30,000 indigenous Maya, called Tzuthuiles. They are many painters, wood sculptors, musicians, weavers, farmers and artisans.

In spite of the fact that there has been a significant incursion of protestant religions over the last 500 years, in this particular area of Santiago the traditionalist spirituality is still alive, and they celebrate the annual cycle of rituals, where all the traditional ceremonies are scheduled; for instance the election of their politics, the first corn blessing, practicing of Mexicans dance, and procession of the eternal creator.

Grand Mayan Elder Wandering Wolf's mission is to unify towards the rehabilitation of the earth and empower his Native brothers and sisters to preserve their culture for future generations. To help empower this mission, Wandering Wolf decides to make a movie and embarks on an epic journey to recover an ancient Mayan Staff for his people of Guatemala which is being unrightfully used as political tool in Bolivia by an Aymaran elder. After several failed attempts, the Staff is finally recovered thus helping change the socio-political landscape throughout the Americas. Meanwhile, Wandering Wolf's documented story of service and sacrifice is viewed by a fictional couple that is experiencing the challenges and hardships of the Shift of the Ages. Wandering Wolf's unfolding story inspires the couple to make difficult choices in their own lives and reclaim the power they have lost before time ultimately runs out.

Wandering Wolf talks of a time when we will be without borders – that the flame of knowledge and wisdom the Maya protected through the dark night will be used to light the world in the time of great transition. That time is now!  SOTA is ready to turn the final filming on – some years have gone by since the initial filming in 2006. The story has continued to evolve and there is still some more filming needed to update the story including some resolution interviews.  We are trying to set great precedents with this project by creating the film with our Ambassadors– so please have patience if we stumble – this is an enormous work load!  Since its inception, SOTA has been continually fundraising; it is this gracious fundraising that has fueled and sustained the positive efforts of this project, yet more is still needed.

The Shift of the Ages Project is all about “unigizing”—energetically uniting people for a positive purpose.  Time and talent are forms of energetic exchange that will greatly enhance the project.  If you would like to Collaborate in the SHIFT, please let us know through your user profile on the website!

First, we created the Ambassadors Network, where donations make meaningful contributions to the completion of the film and participants participate in co-creating the SHIFT on a daily basis through the Affiliate Program.  The next step is the SOTA Collaborative, a tool that is now available through your user profile on the website.  Once you create a profile on SHIFT CENTRAL, you can 'EDIT' your profile and you will see a button that reads 'VOLUNTEER' at the top of your profile page.  By clicking on this button, you will be directed to a form that gives you options to offer your time and services to the SHIFT.  These options represent some of the areas where your donation of time and talent would make a real difference:

• Graphic Design: Logos, posters, banners, comic strips - let your creativity flow!
  
• School Collaboration: Youth contribution-what does the SHIFT mean to kids?
  
• Acting/Video Creation: Create a short film about what 2012 means to you.
  
• SOTA Translation Project:  Help the whole world to hear the Authentic Mayan Message in their own language.
  
• Web Development: Help the SHIFT by donating your time and talent to the SOTA website.
  
• Content Management:  Master of grammatical arts?  Have an eye for the big picture and a professional pen?

The SHIFT is a Collaborative Effort

When the Shift of the Ages project began in 2005, there was only a handful of websites talking about 2012 and the Maya – now the internet, television, major motion pictures, and all manner of media are saturated with speculation and hype.  It's obvious what's on everyone's mind, and there's no wonder why.  The issue is one where everyone knows there is going to be some kind of change, and they are trying to discern what that change will mean.  There is so much information out there, so many theories and claims...it is difficult to know where to turn for the truth.  Since the misconceptions surrounding 2012 originate from misconceptions regarding the Ancient Mayan Calendar, it makes sense to hear what the indigenous Maya have to say about it.
