The SOTA Kickstarter Campaign is designed
to fuel the project’s post-production effort. Our goal is to raise
enough funds to polish the edit and start independently submitting to
festivals like Sundance in the fall.
Right now we have a
rough assembly in need of editorial work, a musical score, music
licensing, audio mix/ FX, visual FX, graphic animation, stock footage
acquisition, voice over, color correction, transfer print, etc.
We’ve spent over six years documenting the Shift of
the Ages story. To save costs along the way, we have cut every
conceivable corner, without compromising one iota in our mission to
deliver Wandering Wolf's message with honor and integrity. And now
it's time to go from a couple of folks on our own computer systems to
a well coordinated team of professionals at the studio.
Many
of you know that the SOTA project has been financially challenged
since the journey began. We are not rich Hollywood moviemakers; we’re
a small group of independent producers sharing a vision with
Wandering Wolf. We’ve had to break a lot of ice and navigate some
tight channels to maintain integrity and stay eye-to-eye with
Wandering Wolf and the Maya people. We are dealing with 500+ years of
exploitation and mistrust that won’t just go away because our
intent is to do something good. Nevertheless, our Maya partners have
been nothing but patient, trusting and supportive of us the entire
journey.
To make sure everyone is feeling good, we have gone
out of our way to involve Wandering Wolf in as much of the filmmaking
process as pos sible. He has reviewed and personally green-lighted
every SOTA video that is in circulation today. These videos are not
the Shift of the Ages movie, but important messages we wanted to
share freely before the release of the film. And you, dear
Ambassador, helped make this a reality!

There’s a huge difference between putting material on a DVD
and creating an engaging story experience that inspires change. “The
Cove” is a great example of what I’m talking about. The
filmmakers took us on an emotional roller coaster that successfully
brought the work of a dedicated few into mainstream awareness. SOTA
could have slapped video material onto to a DVD to got it out there a
few years back. This approach surely would not do justice to the
plight of Wande ring Wolf's people. He has been telling us for years
that: “the flame of my ancestors will light the world in the
transition to the new sun.” I ask you to consider this... how many
people were talking about 2012 a few years ago? Now consider how many
are talking about it today.
Shift of the Ages is your project
too, Ambassadors! We wouldn’t be here without you. It may seem like
it’s getting crazy out there, but as Wandering Wolf says: “this
is the time of purification, and it is not without purpose.” We are
learning valuable lessons. Wisdom comes through experience. It’s
our time friends. Help us with this Kickstarter Campaign and let’s
see that Wandering Wolf’s Shift of the Ages story gets into
theaters so it can inspire those fearing this time of great change.
