How to Achieve Perfection

Why do we always strive for perfection? Is it possible we have always been perfect from the day we were born?

Perfection is not something which can be achieved outside of yourself. Like most everything else it has to do with an underlying belief which says I am not perfect.

Think about it this way. Mathematics is a great tool and is used to solve many problems. When you draw a “perfect” circle, is that circle truly perfect? What happens if you zoom way in on the circle? Try it with a computer program. Draw a circle and zoom in on it. What do you see? There is a finite amount of tangential lines which can be drawn for ANY circle. The more tangential lines that are drawn the better the resolution and the smoother the circle appears to be. This can be thought of as the amount of pixels on your computer screen. When you zoom in on a circle drawn on your computer you will notice it becomes very pix elated. Is it possible to draw a perfect circle without having these pixels? No it’s not, a circle is composed of tiny, tiny little straight lines that intersect at discrete angles and it’s impossible to have a circle without these straight lines. Perfection is not attainable.

Another example has to do with the number Pi. The number actually goes on to about a trillion digits and mathematicians continuously find more and more digits. When does it stop? When will it be perfect?

Often times babies are called perfect but what is perfect about them? Humans are not symmetrical by nature:

In a picture when your left side is mirrored over to your right side to create an image of yourself you look nothing like the real you because you have imperfections which make the left side different than the right side. Some people are born with one foot larger than the other, some with their right arm longer than their left, some with ears that are different sizes or one might stick out more than the other, some are born with one leg longer than the other. So if we are born perfect then what are we striving for? As we grow older we continue to strive for perfection but in so doing we become further and further away from our goal because we find more and more flaws with ourselves.

Is it possible that being perfect is simply a belief or an idea? Is it possible perfection is only achieved by accepting your mistakes and having a belief which says I love everything about myself including my flaws? The mistakes you make are always in the light of creation for you were born with irregularities! If you were born imperfect then what makes you think you can be perfect? Is it possible that nothing in the entire universe is “perfect” according to our old belief system?

In order to achieve perfection we must first begin with a belief. A belief which says to ourselves, we were born perfect for we were loved by our creator despite our flaws. Our flaws are a part of what makes the world so perfectly diverse in nature yet still quite the same.

It is only when we forget the fact that we were born perfect that we lose sight of how perfect we really are. Perfection is a gift that was given to us when we were born. It’s a gift that tells us to love ourselves no matter how different the left side of our body is compared to the right.
